Melissani Lake

Old Vlahata Village
The ruins of this historic village is located on the eastern side of the island, surrounded by rolling hills and scenic countryside. Visitors can explore the old stone houses and attend Sarristra festival in August.
Argilias Monastery
Our last stop is Agrilias Monastery, built in the 18th century by two shepherds at the point where they found the miraculous icon of Virgin Mary. Those two shepherds, Iakovos and Simeon, became the first monks of the monastery while Cosmas of Aetolia is said to have made a stop there during his pass from the island.
